What is Swing music?
Answer
The short answer to this question is that swing music is the popular jazz that was played from the mid/late 1920s to the early 1950s. This encompasses many sub-genres, from the vocal stylings of Ella Fitzgerald to the big band sounds of Benny Goodman to the fast jazz music of the Roaring 20s. Several additional styles of music (such as Blues) are related by history, culture and/or style, thus they could also be classified as "swing music" for the sake of convenience (even though such a classification may be strictly/wildly incorrect).
