After almost eight years at the helm, I'm looking to hand off ownership and administration of Cleveland Swings. I don't have any deadlines on this, so I'm willing to wait 6 months for the right person to come along. I'm convinced, however, that I've taken the website as far as it will go, and it is time to let someone else take it farther. The qualities that I'm looking for in a new administrator are

1. Web experience. This includes all of the basics of managing and hosting web sites (registering domain names, finding a host, etc) AND more specialized skills, such as some form of programming. The site runs on PHP and MySQL, so experience with any C-like language is very helpful in chasing bugs. Joomla experience is a plus, but that can be learned quickly with an adequate foundation. The site uses Joomla, with extensions by Community Builder, Kunena, and JCal Pro. The site requires regular maintenance, and the owner needs to be able to handle those functions.
2. Good Attitude. I hope everyone agrees that I've managed Cleveland Swings fairly over the past 8 years, and I'm looking for someone who can continue that. This includes good conflict management skills, and being able to deal with all the local studios/teachers equitably.
3. Present in the scene. I prefer someone who has been active in the scene for at least a year, with no impending plans on leaving Northeast Ohio.

For my part, the only thing I'd like to retain over the long term is my email address. I use it for a lot of functions, and its very convenient. I'd be happy to stay on as a secondary administrator, but it is time to hand the reins over to someone else.
